So if the car is on autopilot and crashes, does the “driver” still get a ticket or charges? Can you see the upcoming court cases over this crap?

In the case of that particular Tesla, which still has a steering wheel, accelerator pedal, brake pedal, etc., I can see the driver being charged (in fact, I think this particular driver was charged with DUI).

However, if the ridiculous monstrosity GM wants to unleash on us comes to fruition then I don’t see how the driver (or more accurately, “primary passenger”) could be charged in the event of an accident.

The car was set to autopilot for California driver mode. Therefore it operated fine
