Back to the drawing board.

That's what should happen.

Unfortunately what will probably happen is they will call it a "glitch" and field these autonomous monstrosities. They have too much money tied up in the current iteration (which they consider fully cooked).

Not until someone is killed will there be pressure to go back to the drawing board.

Like dangerous interceptions, one fatality is just an anomaly and noting is done. Not until there is a repeated pattern of many fatalities will a traffic light be installed’

Self-driving cars are no different. It will take many fatalities; perhaps each state will make a different decision on just what constitutes ‘many’ before they do anything at all.

It will only take one baby in a carriage for the parents to sue deep pockets Tesla/GM/Google into submission.

A first responder could easily have been killed.

I want action, not investigation.

These need to be pulled off the roads and Tesla’s AP disabled until the systems are fully-vetted.
