“Q Ping”

After over a dozen years I still haven’t picked up all the Freeperisms - what is a “Q” ping? The only thing that comes to mind is a ping to that character on Star Trek The Next Generation.
People need to be added or removed, depending upon if they want a notice or not.
“Q” is an unknown person who seems to be close to Trump and who posts in a different website.
A “Q” ping is a reference that the person who holds the collection of FReepers who want to be told about new “Q” news should or did use this thread as that alerting occasion to those FReepers.
I like your interpretation. I’m probably doing it wrong since this is my first Ping list. People who want to know if content related to a certain is posted, they can ask someone “add me to your ping list.” The FReeper creating the ping list maintains a list of usernames of persons interested in a topic they post on. So when I saw this information I posted it an then sent it to a preformatted list of users so they’d know it was here. :)
