This is the Game of Thrones-themed hotel that has been carved entirely out of ice and snow and comes complete with dragons, direwolves and even the dreaded White Walkers.

The hotel has been built in collaboration with HBO, the network behind the smash-hit series, and has opened at Lapland Hotels Snow Village in Finland.

Intricate ice sculptures depicting themes and characters from the show grace the 14 bedrooms and 10 suites with one room even featuring an enormous carving of a demonic White Walker looming over the bed.

The coolest hotel in the world? Mountain-top igloo allows skiers to stay in sub-zero comfort (just as well there’s a hot tub)

FYI, the Sami People don't like being called Laplanders. To them, being called a Laplander is the same a calling a Black person N (word).

Interesting. Someone should tell Daily Mail. That seems exactly the thing a news organization needs to know.

It must be great to be free to travel and get those kinds of photos.

If I see any kind of retirement and decent health, I would attempt photo journeys.

That WAS an especially wondrous set of photographs. It awes me that someone got into position to get that photo, as well as was able to get such sharpness of focus.

May you stay healthy, happy and have the opportunity to make every trip you ever dream of doing. As for me, I’ll tuck in snugly and look forward to seeing your pictures in the toasty warmth of home.

We stayed at the Ice Hotel this Spring! It was cold! If you stay there for more than one night, you can stay in little cottages. You don’t stay in an ice room more than one time!

They give you a sleeping bag for the night and the bed is covered with reindeer pelts so it is not too bad (unless you have to get up during the night to pee).

During the time when you are not in the room, you can do reindeer sled ride or racing. Also dog sledding to see the Aurora Borealis.

We also took in a hockey game in Kiruna and went skiing at Riksgroenson, about 200 Miles north of Arctic Circle.

It was a fun vacation, tho it would have been better in Dec-Jan when it is near 24 hours darkness.

Thank you for the kind words.

The health thing has kind of nosedived.

About 1130, I started to get hammered by a flu bug going around. I will get through this like any other inconvenience.
