Well of course they won’t pursue a cure-once someone is cured, there is no need for those side effect laden drugs to treat symptoms-so they will keep researching addictive painkillers and other “treatments” for symptoms that can be prescribed forever-$$$$$$...
There are a number of herbal/naturopathic remedies for pretty much everything-and also eating less processed stuff, carbs and refined sugar and natural, unprocessed food instead of frankenfood is a good way to prevent a lot of problems, and it is safer and cheaper than big pharma’s drugs, too...
Are those remedies you talked about truly remedies?
Or are they just purported to be remedies?
You're about pharmaceutical companies making a lot more money from treating chronic conditions than from curing acute conditions. The reason we're running short on new antibiotics is that there isn't much money in them: you take them for a week and you're done. In contrast, if you have diabetes or high blood pressure, you're taking medication for years or even decades. So as far as neurodegenerative diseases go, the pharmaceutical companies big "win" won't be a cure, but something to keep you alive as long as possible taking medications to treat the symptoms rather than the illness.

This is half true at best. I have no doubt that the preservatives processed food plays a part in many chronic illnesses. What I've seen no evidence of is any herbal remedies or the outright quackery of homeopathy doing a single bit of good for conditions like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's apart from placebo effects.
