Dogs sometimes resent or are jealous of the entrance of a newcomer into the family (as with a new baby); and instead of protecting the baby, will attack it.

Dogs have to be socialized to accept the newcomer as part of the “family”, and then it will protect the newcomer as one of its own.

“The father tried to pull the dog off but couldn’t.”

That’s usually the case with pitbulls; and why they are so dangerous.

And if that socialization doesn’t quite work, having the dog be some variation of pitbull obviously can be deadly.

I have never heard of any other breed not taking to a baby.

Words of wisdom, let me repeat them....

“Dogs sometimes resent or are jealous of the entrance of a newcomer into the family (as with a new baby); and instead of protecting the baby, will attack it.

Dogs have to be socialized to accept the newcomer as part of the “family”, and then it will protect the newcomer as one of its own.”
