I run my car on snake oil. That clear it up for you? Guy is a maroon. His tech is a joke.

Here is something that may actually be viable. Gonna need tons of atomic number 94 to make it to another star... but at least it is viable, not proven 100% but potentially viable.
Yes, I remember reading that article. Fascinating, thanks.
The real need is lots and lots of atomic number 79.
In order to be moving in space the vehicle needs to be ejecting mass in the opposite direction it’s going. I.E rocket engines.

Space sails work on the principle of the so-called solar winds. (which due exist). Much like a sailboat, the solar winds push the solar sails and in turn pulls the craft along.
I read a long long time ago bout an idea for basically a very.long maglev track in space that slowly pulls vehicle along till it is goin very very fast...you aim toward general area and adjust as you go along..solar powered.track is tens of miles long...but vehicle is weightless with.very low resistance...anybody have any comments?
Looks like someone got the Christmas eggnog spiked a little to heavy
Oddly enough, scrolling through the numerous comments at the site on this concept produces thoughtful and technical discussion - none of which are dismissive. Only on FR ...
Seems feasable.
They do express some doubt about the steerability.
Why so dismissive? I don’t agree with you at all. He’s basically describing a solar sail made out of a magnetic field, rather than anything material. It would probably work, subject to the constraints he describes; i.e., it’s outbound-only.
Does it need dilithium crystals to operate the warp drive?
BBB
Looks like mostly science fiction, but maybe it’ll stir the pot and influence something real.
Like a grant! :-)
Ok if you believe in panspermia. Other than that useless. A joke.
“...the spacecraft itself, which is attached to the drive sail by a tether...”
Hmmm, what could possibly take out the tether. Hmmmm.
Thanks LibWhacker.

Time warp drive/travel exists. We just cannot do it, yet, that is what will get us”there”.
I will read the article you posted, those who won’t are so smart they never learn anything. When you sort through what interests you, sifting lots out, you are left with what is possible. Then the creativity is boosted. Intel results in about 20% of the inventiveness, creativity about 40%, persistence about 40%. But the desire to learn...search is always 100%.
