“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” - Romans 10:9
But are they believing in their heart or just saying so?

Wheat will grow alongside tares as Jesus said, so I’m sure there are both. But the wheat are definitely real and it isn’t the first account I’ve read on the matter.
When I was in England, it was the African immigrants from former British colonies keeping the oldest churches afloat (both Protestant and Catholic.) Interesting how God works indeed...

But are they believing in their heart or just saying so?Since leaving Islam puts a death sentence on your head - and even in Europe, they will find you if they are looking for apostates - I'd have to say that some do believe.

They have zero reason to fake anything. They gain nothing aside from a new faith and risk quite a bit - apostasy is punishable by death in Islam and there are plenty of Muslims in Europe willing to carry out that punishment.
I don't know what the numbers are of such converts, but if you're a Christian, this is unqualified good news.
