Police investigate fatal officer-involved shooting in Wichita as possible swatting

Deputy Chief Troy Livingston said WPD received a call reporting a shooting at 6:18 p.m. in the 1000 block of West McCormick. He said the caller stated a mother and son got into an argument and, during that, a father was shot in the head. Livingston said the caller said the father died and two hostages were being held.

When police arrived, a 28-year-old man came to the front door of the home. Livingston said a WPD officer fired his service weapon.

...

“We believe we were given some misinformation on the call,” said Livingston. “That’s why I said we have to listen to this tape and kind of dissect it and go through it.”

He said there were three or four other people inside the house and they were not hurt. Wichita police said they are conducting interviews with four witnesses who were inside the home at the time of the shooting along with several officers.

The officer who reportedly shot the victim was a seven-year veteran and will be put on administrative leave.

Well, of course, with pay while on vacation, no doubt.

Charge the officer who shoot without provocation and the caller who made the call both with murder. Need to stop these “pranks” and need cops to stop being so trigger happy. Trigger happy? Yep, pretty obvious in the initial reports. The officer will likely say it was accidental or make up some lame excuse but why was his finger on the trigger? Very troubling.

Administrative leave. That is all the punishment the officer will get. With pay and probably a bonus. Then he will quit and go to another force somewhere with high recommends.

That sounds like the cop needs to be charged. We'll see how they sin it.

Anyone on this thread who assumes the cops are guilty of murder without any proof are likely members of “Black Lives Matter”.

Step forward and identify yourselves so FReepers will know who you are.

“Charge the officer who shoot without provocation......”

Suggest you send your “suggestion” to the Minneapolis police after a “muzzie” police officer shot (without provocation) an innocent women who summoned police for help. She didn’t have a chance.
