You can add me to the ping list
Please add me to the 1812 list. As someone who already follows Sunken Civ’s “Catastrohism” ping list, I am particularly interested in the influence of the great New Madrid earthquakes of 1811 and 12, and the 1812 comet. Here is a link regarding how these events influenced Indian involvement in this conflict.

Regarding gathering articles into a digest list, if you have not seen them you should search for Sunken Civ’s lists, they are voluminous and amazing. His ping list topics are “Catastrophism” (earthquakes, volcanoes, astronomical events), and “Gods, Graves & Glyphs” (regarding archaeology/anthropology). They may give you additional ideas. Thanks for taking on this task.
You might find my Comment #82 of interest. I list there a link about the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811/12 on Indian decisions to fight for or against the American settlers.
I am interested in your thoughts regarding this proposed fitness, etc. list. As a 79 year old woman I am not all that into weightlifting and bodybuilding. However, since I am renovating several large houses I am trying to stay fit and the work gives me a fair amount of exercise. I am very knowledgeable about therapeutic nutrition, and have even taught an adult education class called “Nutrition for Health and Happiness”. It was 10 classes of 2 1/2 hours each, total 25 hours. Half the class wanted me to do an advance class, but we did not have enough enrollment to make that happen. With so many older people trying to live longer and happier, I hope you will consider that audience in your planning, as well as young fitness buffs. You can Private Message me if you wish.
I will check it out. Ok, you’re in.

Yes, indeed. Thanks!
You might also find interesting the fact that Caracas, Venezuela too had a monster quake during that same 2011-12 period which killed around 20,000 people. Our quakes killed far fewer because the territory was so sparsely settled. James Audibon was living in that wilderness area studying the birds and wrote about the quakes, and the first steamboat was attempting to proceed down the Mississippi to New Orleans. When the Mississippi ran backwards at one point, it was there to have the experience recorded. A good time was had by all. /s
Ah, cut it out. [blush]
