Grammy-award winning artist Lorde has canceled a scheduled concert in Tel Aviv following activists' calls for her to join the growing boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement targeting Israel.
Eran Arielli, owner and founder of concert organizer Naranjah, which promoted the June show, confirmed the cancellation on Sunday.
"The truth is that I was naive to think that an artist of her age can withstand the pressure involved in coming to Israel, and I take full responsibility and ask the forgiveness of fans, admirers, and other dreamers," Arielli wrote on Facebook.
"I have no complains about her, and beyond that, my opinion of her has not changed one millimeter," Arielli said.
It’s miserable music anyway.
Eran Arielli sounds like a very perceptive person.
Antisemitism is a powerful force. By the way, Lorde is 21, not a child.

It is so ironic, isn’t it, given that so many liberals are Jewish.

I have no idea who she is, but if she made it this far, she must be good enough for audiences to like her. It’s a pity she didn’t have enough guts to just tell the pressure group people to go jump in the lake. The problem is that so many of these performers are scared - and possibly rightly so - that they will be blacklisted if they don’t do what the (identity unknown) lefty head honcho commands that they just give in. This, unfortunately, gives said lefty head honcho even more power.
What I’d like to know is who makes the PC decision, and how is it relayed down the ranks?
Who is Lorde? Bet by next year, no one else will know either.

It's a generational thing. Years ago, I heard Al Kooper on a radio talk show one night, taking calls. He had recently started teaching at Berklee, and explained that "new" musicians write songs for the upcoming generation behind them.
As for who's organizing/threatening to organize PC boycotts, it could the two guys with a fax machine that Rush Limbaugh found out was sending bogus stories to the gullible LSM that was reporting it as fact with tens of thousands of supporters...
I think I’ll boycott Lourde, who has profited so much from me so far.
