“in my fathers house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you so”
Actually this statement by Jesus was carefully chosen to comfort his disciples. It was part of a traditional Hebrew song/saying that the bridegroom gives to his bride when he comes to take her to his families home. At that time, it was the tradition that the bridegroom would build on a separate room to his father’s house for he and his bride to live in. He would not come for her until these preparations were complete.
Gee thanks but I accept what he said as it appears. “ In his Fathers (God) house are many houses......we are in one of the houses. He wasn’t talking about a riom on a house. He was saying there are many houses.
