I’m not all that wild about Chakka Kahn’s mainstream hit music. There are several that didn’t get so much airplay that are awesome though. “Sweet Thing” is almost otherworldly, progressive jazz funk with vocals rivaling Joni Mitchell.
The only good stuff Chaka did was with “Rufus”.
Hadn’t really made that distinction but looking at my preferences you’re right.
I heard a lotnof bad knock off James Vrown and some advanced throat clearing
OK, I went to the You Tube site and listened to a handful. Thats all I could take. This is IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM any type of funk. The essence of funk is a groove. A tasty, tasty rhythmic groove. This stuff has lackagroove. It is the exact opposite of funk. THE FOUR LADS HAVE MORE FUNK THAN THIS!!!
My wife brought George Clinton and his funk men (forget the name of the band) to Ball State U.
Back in the `90s. They lost their shirts on poor ticket sales and it was a BS show.
