I retired as a design engineer from GE...
One day, one of the VP’s and my boss were in my office...I mentioned that I didn’t own a cellphone...
The VP asked me why I didn’t...I pointed at my boss and said, “So him and you can’t call me...”
The VP looked at me strangely for a second, then said, “You are the smartest man I know....”
A past client was a maintenance engineer at a plant. He was required to have a cell phone on him at all times, even on vacation. So he goes to the Boundary Waters on vacation. No cell phone reception.
I retired last year after 32 years from GE.
They gave me us I phones for work.
I only used them for calls.
