Skinwalkers are a Navajo Indian belief similar to a werewolf in which a shaman can change into a wolf at night and pronounce curses and spells on others.
I’v worked with quite a few Navajos in the past who were deathly afraid of them.

To gain such powers, they MUST choose a toddler relative that they literally, cruelly, bloodily sacrifice to advance to such a status. We don't recall if they have to eat them, or not.

The normal Dineh will not even go back into a house wherein one was sighted to retrieve anything. Totally walk away from it forever.

My housemate believes that some skinwalkers are some form of fallen angel/demonic personages. There seems to be some differences among them.
