FULL TITLE: Parents sue school district after their severely bullied 13-year-old daughter hanged herself and left behind note 'apologizing for being ugly'
The parents of a 13-year-old girl who committed suicide in November after being bullied for two years are suing her school district over a wrongful death claim.
Rosalie Avila, 13, hanged herself inside her family's Yucaipa, California home on November 28 and was later declared brain dead before being taken off life support December 4.
Her parents, Freddie and Charlene Avila, allege that their eighth-grade daughter was relentlessly bullied at Mesa View Middle School by fellow classmates who taunted her by saying 'she had ugly teeth, that she was ugly, a whore, a slut, and had sexually transmitted diseases,' according to a news release, KTLA reported.
The teen's classmates allegedly circulated a video showing what an ugly girl looked like and what a pretty girl looked like and used a picture of Rosalie to portray the ugly girl,' the release stated.
'In her suicide note, she apologized to her parents for being ugly.'
Weeks after her tragic death, the alleged bullies still targeted her on social media, according to her parents. One recent post read, 'Rosie is still annoying me from the grave.'
Her parents were also subjected to cruel bullying comments and messages.
One person sent them a message with a meme that said 'hey mom,' next to a picture of Rosalie's face.

Public school life (and private school isn’t much better). Your peers become more important than your parents, and you stop listening to your parents.
Some places? Criminal charges are being brought against bullies like this. Wonder if they will do it here?

I had to talk my friend into getting her daughter out of a toxic school where the teacher was setting up the little girl to be harassed by the other students. Now that she is in a new school she is beginning to flourish.
A whole lotta spanking needs to be going on that isn’t.
“When your child is being bullied you need to take them out of that school.”
I’m with you HTB and here is why.
Getting an education is more important. Kids can’t get an education if they are being bullied. We all know the schools are not going to stop the bullies. Schools don’t give a shit, sorry but it’s true. This is not the old days.
Let the bullies stay in the cesspool that is the public school and well...stay and become more stupid.
Take your kid out and let them become more educated then one day your kid will be the boss of that bully. R E V E N G E

After what these kids did? No. What my grandmother always said applies. “Take them to the field and horsewhip them”.
I agree if the school is a bad one, get the kid out.

You don’t have to beat the bully up, just stand up to him - worked for me and I was certainly no tough guy. Just got tired of taking shite.
There seems to be no remorse from the bullies. This is also very disturbing.
Children are capable of great cruelty and ugliness, more than we can ever imagine.
And it is hard for a parent to know everything that transpires in a child's world. We might know a little around the edges, but details in deep inside that world remain a mystery beyond what a child is even capable of communicating.

This is a deeper symptom of society falling apart. The lack of real marriages and real dads in the home is showing. Can you imagine what a Greatest Generation dad would have waiting for his child if he found out he was bullying someone?
I don’t think schools are the problem, but they are certainly not the answer. There is no discipline in schools whatsoever and no accountability. They just continue on the laxness that is in most of these childrens’ homes.
Sadly, many of the teachers are also bullies. Being liberal feminazis and all...
