Fascinating about the “still-life” pic.
But you can’t trust a picture anymore! It used to be that a photograph was the last word, then along came photoshopping. Now this. Is it good or bad?
I agree. I have not been to the Nat Geo site to see what the requirements were for submissions but after the whole Steve McCurry debacle one has to wonder if they even make distinctions between photojournalism and pretty pictures with post-editing or staging.
There’s a place in the world for edited photos but I appreciate it more when they are advertised as such. When I used to shoot and develope 35mm I would dodge and bird, play with exposure and such but that was a different part of the artistic process and I would never try to play that off as SOOC work.
