411 Missing Persons author David Paulides has been reporting on this for more than 10 years. RCMP are just lazing around as usual.

A foot in a shoe, along with part of a lower leg."Our early analysis suggests these are human remains and we will do further investigation and testing ... in the coming weeks,"
Nope, can't get anything past them.......

No foul play was involved in those cases, according to the Coroners Service, though it did not say how it arrived at that conclusion. Really? I mean, you find feet sans torsos and they don't suspect foul play?..............

There was a TV show on this-——but where I saw it escapes me-———about 2 years ago.

. . . this has been going on for years.
Fisherman, sailor, or other unfortunate gets washed overboard. Sea creatures eat the remains but can't get at the foot in the shoe, which also protects the foot from decomposition. Foot detaches from rest of remains, floats with running shoe, drifts to shore. Folks develop conspiracy theories.
So it goes.

This story keeps popping up - sorry, I mean "emerging" - oops, I mean they keep floating it...anyway, it's been around for years now. What they mean by "no indication of foul play" is that there isn't any known crime to attach it to - sorry - not that the remains actually indicate a "natural" death. They've been submerged in water for some time, forensics are a bit hard to come by. You can get tissue samples, but what do you match them against?
Still, it's a pretty weird thing to keep happening. It certainly isn't happening at every coastal town. I'm going to go out on a limb here - sorry - but to the best of my knowledge the good citizens of British Columbia aren't into human sacrifice, at least not so much. Well, hardly ever.

Ever since they went to the metric system people no longer have use for feet.

That’s some brilliant and terrific forensic work. Here I was thinking Sasquatch or Yeti were investing in footwear.

These go back to the 1990’s. I recall seeing reports on the found feet as early as 1996 on U.S. shores of Puget Sound. Never solved that I know of.
