Just husband and I and we travel infrequently so it’s worth the occasional splurge. When I was very young I remember sleeping in the MGB to save hotel costs. They actually have quite decent leg room. Today? Never. We’ve pretty much left our traveling days behind.

I have some weird “You Were There” memory, so I still get flashes of actually being in those places - seeing what’s around me, hearing and smelling the place - standing at the base of the Athabasca Glacier or standing on the Plains of Abraham looking up at the Quebec City fort or dangling from the grammar school jungle gym, so I can still pretend I’m traveling without leaving the comforts of home.

My mother had an almost photographic memory, but mine is only a pale imitation of hers. Never thought to ask her about the You Were There part.

Sorry to hear that bro I am going ice skating ⛸ tomorrow at Shu Mart Ecoland, Davao City, Philippines 🇵🇭 Yes, ice skating in Southern Mindanao. I went last week. I try to go once a week.
Now, for indoor anenas. Outside of NHL arenas, probably the nicest one, for college hockey, is Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, ND. Mr Engelstad, a North Dakota graduate, was a multi, multi millionaire, and donated MILLIONS of bucks to build it. He spared no expense.

See a tour of Ralph Engelstad Arena. Probably the finest college Arena in America.

Did you make the hikes back to the two different tea houses?

No, and until I googled that, I hadn’t heard of the tea houses. When we went, we took a small tour bus that was filled with Japanese tourists and couldn’t understand a word of the explanations made by the guides. So it was just viewing the wonder of nature, while listening to the interesting murmur of ununderstandable human sounds.

One of them is quite a vertical hike but the views are spectacular. The other is a trail that basically follows the lake and the tea house is at the base of the glacier. I actually prefer the azure blue colors of Moraine Lake to the pale blue of Lake Louise.

>>azure blue colors of Moraine Lake

Oh, that does sound wonderful. Nature, like art, just makes me want to cry with awe at the beauty.

Well, that park sure looked alot like Wentworth park where I used to play as a kid back in the 60s with those houses on the far side. They used to flood Wentworth Park, too, in the winter for ice skating. Probably don't do that any more because the kids might hurt themselves and the city get sued. Sad.

I sure remember the Speck murders. He was one sick character.
