Pretty good movie about this affair. Think it was called Scandal. Starred John Hurt I think.
Yes good movie, also had Bridget Fonda.

And I learned two new things related to her:
1) Her daughter with Val Kilmer has her eyes: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6087278/?ref_=nmbio_trv_7
2) Joanne Whalley voiced the role of the unnamed narrator in the audiobook of Elizabeth Kostova’s “The Historian”.
That book was one of the few times I enjoyed the fact that the narrator was a woman. She was excellent. Entertaining book too considering it’s got a far fetched plot.
