I got two permits for the upper Allen Road entrance. One was for Thursday this week, but I went on a 9 miler with the Midweek Meetup group on Weds, so didn't make it on Thursday. So I've no-showed twice now! The Meetup was at San Pedro Valley Park (County Park) just north of Mount Montara. So I've now hiked north of Montara, hiked Montara to North Peak, and hiked south of Montara with you at Spine Trail over to El Granada. The County Park is very well maintained and has a good trail system. You don't see as much wilderness as we saw because it overlooks some Pacifica neighborhoods.
This is great that the lower La Honda part is opening up! Thanks for posting this. Have you done Umunhum yet? One of the guys on this week had just done it and was raving about it.
