The New York Giants benched Eli Manning on Tuesday afternoon. Perhaps you heard. Manning has been the face of the franchise since 2004, starting every game since Week 11 that year, 210 of them plus another 10 playoff games and two Super Bowls (that they won). It was shocking to hear that Manning would not be under center for the 2-9 Giants when they take the field on Sunday against the Raiders.

Ping
They need to bench their GM Jerry Reese instead. His draft picks have been busts and sub-par. Eli’s not the greatest QB but put some talent around him why dont they.
......they want the #1 draft pick
A likely Hall of Famer is benched for going 2-9, but Colin Kaepernick is supposed to have a starting job forever after going 1-10 in 2016!
Bingo!!!!!!
Tom Coughlin would love to have Manning in Jacksonville. It looks like all the Jaguars need to have their strongest team ever is an elite quarterback.
Far from an Eli fan, but loved his big bro. I feel for Eli right now. He’s put everything into that team and city, and you can see from former teammates and fan outrage that he has been wronged. This was handled about as poorly as possible.
They can’t get the #1 pick unless Cleveland wins 2 or 3 games. Or, they somehow un-win their two victories.
A 1-10 year climaxed by him tearing up his contract and walking out.
This is complete B.S. -- for two reasons:
1. Geno Smith has the worst rating of any QB in the NFL since he's joined the league. He's not part of any team's future as a starter.
2. How the hell do you evaluate a young quarterback like Webb by playing him in games behind a shoddy offensive line, with no running game, and with most of the team's top receivers out for the season with injuries?
Here's what is really happening ...
The Giants have already made up their minds that they're going to cut or trade Manning after the season. As a result, the absolute worst thing they can do is expose him to injury in the remaining games of the season. If that happens, he has no trade value and the team has to pay him $25 million next year.
It's really that simple. This was actually a good business move, but the team handled it terribly. There's an open insurrection among fans, and even retired Giants over the last 20+ years have been all over the team for the way they handled this situation. This franchise is starting to look and act like the Cleveland Browns, for heaven's sake.
Isn’t this NFL? Do people still care?
Has the nfl stopped disrespecting the National Anthem, The Flag and the United States as yet? If not, who cares???
who cares???
I guess I’m the exception then.
Do people still care?
If not, who cares???
If you didn’t care, why would you click?
Trying to stay informed.
