And if you're not into Christmas yet, perhaps Joan Baez's "Forever Young" for Dr. Who.
Conflating Castle character with the birth of Jesus is the most illogical thing I have ever seen. Unreal.
Personally, I love it!
Give it a break.
If Jesus was physically alive today, he would probably enjoy watching Castle reruns.
She changed a lot from the early years. He did not.
I couldn’t find as many scenes after season 1 where you get that wild ego. I really enjoyed his relationship with his mother and daughter.
Reference the claim that this is “the most illogical thing he has ever seen.....”
He must have never watched C-Span.
Liked the show (don’t watch it anymore), love the song, and found the pairing fan-funny - like how dare Castle fans think of Castle as “lord”. LOL. Made me laugh.
Oh, thank you, Wuli. I loved how it worked out. I haven’t watched it for a long time, and first season was my favorite.
I try very hard not to watch it either.
I’d still watch Castle if I watched any of the three broadcast networks very much.
But, I only do that when necessary for some sport event I can only find on one of them. For some years now, I’ve been on a one-person boycott of the ABC/CBS/NBC networks as far as ANY of their other shows.
I know my “protest” is but a blip on the media watching charts, but it does change what I do.
As for the video, critics are hard to take sometimes, but just know and be honest to your own motives, that’s what counts.
To me, I took the video as a sort of fun spoof on Castle fan-atics, and not at all a slight at Yeshua.
Thanks again, Wuli. I don’t watch any network TV. I collect DVD boxes and binge watch. I do, however, rewatch election night coverage for the joy of seeing the liberals go miserable.
I love Christmas and I love laughter. I separate both completely from religion. Well, let me modify that. I adored coming to adulthood in a Catholic girls school with Christmas services and the baby appearing in the manger on Christmas morning. We did candlelight choir evenings that still send chills down me to remember. It was pure magic and pure joy.
But laughter. My goodness, is there anything better? How could there be a God without a sense of humor? So many of the critics simply vibrate anger and remind me of the Taliban trying to take all the joy out of life. I want them to be happy in their view of religion, but it has to have a thick red line that stops them from forcing other people to act as they act and believe as they believe.
To me Christmas is mostly secular. It’s a time of year when it’s acceptable to stop strangers, meet their eyes and wish them to be as happy as it’s possible for them to be. I want every person I see to feel absolute joy.
The songs aren’t making fun of religion. They’re remembering the joy that religion brought a young girl and the joy that comes with laughing at ridiculous comparisons, like comparing the birth of Superman to Christmas morning. I think that’s funny. Who in their right mind believes that’s for real? It’s called fiction for a reason.
I do have to say that my laughter at Mohammad doesn’t have that same respect. I loved the cartoons that caused all the Muslim trouble. That’s a religion that doesn’t make the world a better place, as Christianity tries to do.

If I had Netflicks again (had it and canceled twice because I seldom used it), or a ROKU box, I might watch some network TV shows (like Castle), in reruns, without the network’s interruptions & self-promotion segments).
I forgot, in my earlier reply, I do watch Blue Bloods and some of NCIS on cable channels that show them in reruns. I also forgot to admit I do watch Last Man Standing (love it). They show it in reruns in later afternoon and evenings on CMT and a Hallmark channel. But broadcast network wise that’s it.
What is mostly on my DVR is old (30s, 40s, 50s, 60s) movies I recorded watching them on cable channels like TCM, FX and others. Too bad when I cancel my Verizon Fios account (when I move) I can’t get/copy what’s recorded on my DVR.
I don’t know Last Man Standing. I’ll look it up.
I buy 30’s and 40’s movies, so I have a bunch. They were on at 4:30 when I got home from school. I haven’t done music videos to them, but maybe I should. A Guy Named Joe, Laura, Ghost and Mrs Muir, Song of Bernadette, Bells of St Mary, Long Grey Line, Miracle on 34th St, Portrait of Jennie, Daddy Long Legs, Metropolis, Rathbone Sherlock Holmes, Miracle of the Bells, massive numbers of WWI airplane movies, ...
Last Man Standing stars Tim Allen, the guy who used to do the Home Improvement Series years ago, where his character (Tim Taylor) - in the show - did a TV show called “Tool Time”. He had a wife and three sons.
In Last Man Standing he plays the same kind of “macho” guy as was Tim Taylor, only he has a wife and three daughters. A different actress plays his wife - she’s good. Instead of a TV show his character is the public face, ad man, and marketing guy for a chain of outdoor equipment stores called “Outdoor Man”.
His character gets to say all sorts of anti Obama stuff.
ABC cancelled the show, even though it was among the most watched on its schedule. The actor in the lead - Tim Allen - is seeking other cable channels to pick it up next season.
Any show that can make anti-Obama remarks on TV is good to me. And an outdoor equipment store sounds fun. They’re great places to shop. Tim Allen was wonderful as Santa Claus.
