Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, they’re OK by them. Despite Chappaquiddick and various scandals, Ted was elected to the Senate the year I was born—1962—and only left it in 2009 after his body assumed room temperature...Consistently re-elected.
They support the power structure. They’re figuring that if they lose Franken in the Senate it’ll end up being replaced by a Republican and McCain will lose his power. They worry it’ll be enough of a power shift where they won’t be able to stop President Trump. The balance in the Senate is just too tight.
When it is “supporting women” vs. enabling this POTUS, women lose. That’s how much they care.
