Anyone thinking that our justice system (or, rather, just us system) is fair also thinks the earth is flat and Gore has an IQ above two digits.

Before the shooting, Garcia Zarate had finished a federal prison sentence for illegal re-entry into the United States and was transferred in March 2015 to San Francisco's jail to face a 20-year-old charge for selling marijuana.
The sheriff's department released him a few days later after the district attorney dropped the marijuana charge, despite a request from federal immigration officials to detain him for deportation.
So SF isn't merely content to be a sanctuary city, they actively bring criminals to their city to release them there rather than let them be deported.
How many on the jury who want to do jury nullification in the name of Hispanic solidarity.
No mention of Steinle in the headline. Almost as if this was just another “accident” that occurred by a hapless homeless immigrant down on their luck.

I think it is hard to prove murder here; what may be at work also manifested itself with police shootings. BLM-types riot, the DA agrees to charge with murder, and no jury could ever convict based on the circumstances (manslaughter would probably be a better charge).

Not sure what the possible verdicts are. Sounds like 1st degree is off the table with these comments.Manslaughter rather than murder seems the inevitable outcome.
