I mean, these ladies arent starving to death. They make minimum wage.I'd like to see how far from starving you were if your sorry ass was making $2.13 an hour. That's the minimum cash wage for employees that get tips.

Please see post #32 as I already answered your concern. (I was merely joining many other freepers on this thread by quoting from a popular movie by the name of ‘Reservoir Dogs’.)
I understand your frustration. Have a good day.

Thanks for your response. I’ve heard of the movie but never watched it, so I missed the references. There are a lot of folks that really do believe that.

Tipping should never be mandatory. I won’t usually go in a place if I know they are doing this. I also don’t have a lot of sympathy for the higher priced restaurants who can’t do better than minimum nickel & dime wages for their employees either. I worked at a skilled job where some days you had no work,& this paid exactly nothing & we didn’t get tipped either. I could sort of understand it because the customer bill was usually plenty high for what they were getting.

Ask any bartender or server what two groups are the worst tippers Outside of the English?

Not quite. That's the minimum wage the restaurant can pay them, IF their tips make up the difference. If they work a shift and get 0 tips, the employer is still required to pay them $7.25/hr or whatever the full minimum wage is. The employer can just count tips against their pay until their hourly rate is $2.13.
