The tragedy that is addiction
“£70,000 in four months on getting high.”

That’s over $90,000 USD. First-world one-percenter addiction problem!
” - with a boyfriend she met in rehab.”

That’s a problem I have with so many rehab facilities and groups like AA. So many of them end up hooking up.
Hanging with an addict is probably not the best place for an addict to hang.
I knew a former counselor that had ties to AA and she used to call their meeting “#$^% sessions” because so many of them would hook up.
Good for her that she’s working to recover, but her son should not be with her full time unless a reliable second adult is assisting here and there. Her son is 4, and she says looking after him helps her stay clean. Fine, but what’s going to happen when he starts school? She’ll need other routines to fill the time.
Shame is a very important emotion. It is God speaking to us when we have clearly violated the Natural Law He has written on our hearts. Modern psychology seems to want to diminish it.
You would think the £3,000-a-day part would be sufficient.
