Steve Chapman is a columnist and editorial writer for the Chicago Tribune. His twice-a-week column on national and international affairs, distributed by Creators Syndicate, appears in some 60 papers across the country. Steve Chapman came to the Tribune in 1981 from the New Republic magazine, where he was an associate editor. Steve Chapman has contributed articles to several national magazines, including Slate, The American Spectator, National Review and The Weekly Standard. Born in Brady, Texas, in 1954, Steve Chapman grew up in Midland and Austin. Steve Chapman attended Harvard University, where he was on the staff of the Harvard Crimson. He graduated with honors in 1976 and later did graduate work at the University of Chicago. Steve Chapman has three children and lives in suburban Chicago.
“If he’s so dumb, how come he’s President?”—Chevy Chase (Ford at the time)
And boy are they. Not one that I read, and a read several, that supported his juvenile screed.
Please, Ms. Chapman, tell us were we can go to see the Chapman Tower, a Chapman golf course, or a Chapman international hotel.
After that, THEN we can talk about how stupid Trump is.
I think it looks amazing.
Again. It’s not this unknown pundit Steve Chapman that concerns me; it’s that Townhall gave him column space.
These people that support & promote globalization, just want to make those who want sense brought back to this country & the world need to shame those who don't. It doesn't work anymore. Too many people realize that these attempts to shame reflect poorly on them, not us. I have come to the point where I just laugh at people like this, because they haven't the brain God gave a goose, and totally lack commonsense.
President Trump has a genius for being underestimated.
Not true. FReepers like myself scour the web looking for articles to post so FReepers like you can pontificate over them without having to do the work of actually going out to find where they are. Perhaps if you started posting articles from sites you deem worthy I could take your guidance as a cue for where to look. Until then it's hit or miss as to whether it meets your standards or not.
Well, it’s obvious President Trump is 100 times smarter than this guy, Steve Chapman.
He pretty much got everything wrong but the spelling and syntax. A “D” for effort. An “F” for facts. But an “A” for spelling which works out to a solid “D-”.
Time for Chapman to find another line of work. He sucks at this one. Maybe he could try running for President to prove he is as smart as he thinks he is.
The president is stupid? He’s so stupid he’s running rings around Democrats, the MSM, and NeverTrumper Repukes pretty much by himself. Mr. Chapman wants a return to the status quo where both parties submit totally to the Deep State. That’s the reason our country is in the mess it is in today. It’s Mr. Chapman who is the stupid one here.
Born in Texas, lives around Chicago. Sounds dumb to me.
I wonder what he could do if he was actually smart?
Oh sure. A guy who goes to Wharton and has real life success is dumb
This is exactly why journalists couldnt understand why Trump won
Delivered in person, that one would leave a lot of NeverTrumpers sputtering with rage.
Seems like Steve “Chapped-ass-man” is so dim he doesn’t recognize when someone is so much smarter than he has the brains to even imagine....
Another aging Ivy League Elitist (who looks down on the Ivy League’s U. Of Penn, Trump’s Alma Mater).
Born in Brady, Texas in 1954, Chapman grew up in Midland and Austin. He attended Harvard University, where he was on the staff of The Harvard Crimson, and graduated with honors in 1976. He has been a fellow at the American Academy in Berlin and has served on the Visiting Committee of the University of Chicago Law School. He received an honorary doctorate from Lake Forest College.
Chapman, who is married, has two sons, a daughter, and three stepsons. He lives in the suburbs of Chicago.
