Doesn’t matter. When is the last time baseball beat nfl in ratings? even a world series game.

I don’t see how they fix this; the changing demographics of the country are working against them, and when working people are lectured by their “bread-and-circuses” entertainers it is just too much. Most “people that matter” support their police, who protect them from the ilk of NFL players; the games had already degenerated into commercial marathons, and this provided a convenient excuse for people to pack it in. I knew people with season tickets a few years ago (Giants, Jets, and Eagles), and ALL of them dropped them before this issue even arose.

The NFL at this point is trying to grab one of the last TV audiences left (low-information people), as more and more people turn on a computer after dinner instead of the TV.

The next collective bargaining agreement is going to be a hoot.

I hope the nfl dies horribly. Dead to me forever, no matter what they do.

I used to really enjoy football. I generally try to get to at least 1 KC Chiefs game a season, and I'd watch 2 or 3 games a week. Every season, I'd buy some NFL stuff, maybe a shirt and a jersey, hat, etc, to wear to the game I'd go to, and for "Red Fridays" at work. No I'm not a big spender, but I'd guess that I probably spent $200-$300 a year on NFL merchandise, and another $200 at the game.

The KC Chiefs are playing on Monday night football right now, and I'm watching Hannity. I haven't watched a single game this year. I certainly haven't bought any merchandise, and I think I'll be letting some of the advertisers know that I'm not watching the games, and I'll probably look for brands that don't advertise with the taxpayer subsidized NFL.

The Sporting News article says "Nearly one-third (32 percent) of adults say they're less likely to watch NFL game telecasts because of the Kaepernick-led player protests against racial injustice, according to Rasmussen's telephone/online survey of 1,000 American adults conducted Oct. 2-3.

The punch line? That was a survey LAST October 2016 while Obama was still President. This has been going downhill picking up speed for well over a year now, and they still don't get it. Pitiful. From Forbes, October 5, 2016.

When one is tracking a 25% decline, anything that could account for 5% of the decline ought to be taken into consideration.

i want the last refuge of the NFL to be run on Wednesdays at 2:00 am on ESPN the Ocho channel.

And I want to see the superbowl pre-empted by the semi-regional quarter finals of Dodgeball on The Ocho!

there will be so called conservatives who are still watching, and aiding the NFL. They are the Vichy who have no guts, and no morals.

You seem to be forgetting the fact that the vast majority of players—including virtually all White players—don't kneel for the anthem. So I guess we can mark you down as wanting to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

IMHO, conservative NFL fans are free to handle this issue as they see fit—even if it doesn't comport with your preferred response. Thus, calling those who continue to watch the NFL "Vichy" is the height of arrogance on your part; please get a grip.

The Left would like nothing more than to see the NFL utterly destroyed, because it is a bastion of entertainment for conservatives and it's a violent sport, and therefore not very PC. Thus, many conservative NFL fans would instead prefer to see the problem fixed rather than resulting in the league being ruined.

In any event, characterizing those conservatives who choose to continue watching the NFL—one of which I am not—as having no guts and no morals is abject hysteria on your part. Goose-stepping groupthink—a feature of the politically correct Left—has no place on the conservative side of the political spectrum. Thus, your strident, holier-than-thou attitude is rather comical. I say that even though I—like you—have personally chosen not to watch the NFL any longer. But I'm also saying that just because not every individual has made that same choice doesn't suddenly make you a better conservative than they are. Jeez...

Soon your advertisers will begin their exit.

The NFL players AND owners AND the league management have already crossed the Rubicon in my opinion. No going back regardless of what amends any of them try to make going forward.

I realize I am speaking only for myself. Probably most of the people who are upset about this will go back to business as usual as soon as the league stops this crap. I won’t and I believe anyone that does is wrong.

No change or apology coming from any of these parties will be sincere because of a changed heart. It will all be for the money. Just a bunch of whores telling their johns that they love them.

The current CBA expires in 2020. They are going to lose their shirts until then.

Viewership does not tell the whole story

Ticket prices have dropped 50 percent or more even for major teams like the Cowboys and lesser teams can’t give tickets away

Advertiser return on investment is a big unknown to us but you can bet the sponsors know exactly what’s up

Perhaps they don’t want their brand associated with racist ghetto thug players who love to tell their fan base how much they think they suck

“Still too many watching.”

Like it or not, there is a bottom limit...probably a 40% drop. But even so, with them used to year-to-year growth, even a flat line is bad...and a 10% drop is terrible...and, well, this is a family website, so I can’t say what a 25% drop is.

Bottom line - we are KICKING BUTT!!!
