I take care if my 40-something handicapped sister and while she’s heard playing with her toys it’s all good ... but when I can’t hear the faint clink clunk of blocks shifting from floor to bucket: watch out!

Our opinions differ.

I have no problem with the infants who cry. That’s their nature. My sole problem is with the parents who don’t deal with the problem. If the child’s crying is disturbing other people, soundproof the room. Doubletape sound deadeners to the walls until the problem is over. Don’t open the window to air the room out and wake the neighborhood. Air condition the child’s room. Certainly it costs. They chose to have children or they can trade some of their home choices for the rights of other people.

As for children, they’ll all throw tantrums to a certain point. Again, its the parents who need to deal with it, not the child. The parent needs to remove the problem in the best way for the child’s safety and emotional growth. if the parents don’t know how to do it, no person is going to trust going up to them and telling them how to do it. You can’t trust that the pressure they’re under dealing with the child isn’t going to spread onto anyone who makes suggestions.

That’s what authority is for. To be in the position to make such suggestions without threats unless they, in turn, are threatened.

All sympathy for the children. Very little for parents who don’t deal with the problem.

"OK, then buy a Pink Noise generator and sleep with that.....if you can. :-)"

She's a singer. Some of it's not bad.

She’s not wearing her dog tags properly.

I was so happy when I found out I was having twins. I knew right from the start and asked my doctor for an early ultrasound so they could confirm. People look at me like I’m crazy when I say I’d love to have more twins ;)

Go to the nearest pharmacy and purchase a pair of soft foam earplugs. You will no longer hear the baby, or the neighbor’s lawn mower, or his kid’s drums. You will be able to hear your alarm.
Used them for years before my husband got his CPAP machine.
Every household should have a pair or two for unexpected problems.

I think you’re crazy.
A good kind of crazy.

Twins can seem a nightmare during the first years but I usually end up telling people they are more than worth it after you get them house broken.
I get some strange looks when I put it that way.

My granddaughter just is a tad over 1 month, there are nights she cries a lot. Babies cry for reasons, being dirty diapers, diaper rash because NO BABY POWDER IS TO BE USED per the DUMB Pediatrician, and if hungry. Often formula does not hold them more than 2 hrs even at 6 oz. I keep my granddaughter at least once a week. Parents are NEWBIES, so follow the Pediatricians orders. STUPID Pediatricians say not to give babies under 6 months water with a half Tsp of honey. I ignore that, use bottled water and half tsp of raw honey and she goes right to sleep after she’s taken the whole 6 oz.

I’ve raised 3 healthy boys following my mom’s and grandmothers advice. They raised 12 between them.

DUH, formula is made with water and those Chems that cause COLIC. The FDA has no effective Colic med. But they will use Nexium in a heart beat. We used to use 2 drops of Paregoric in milk in a eye dropper to stop Colic.

That sounds like good advice from someone who has lived through the experience. Good thing your daughters-in-law were open to taking that advice.

One of my aunts was a very prim and proper woman who forgot where she came from.
Half the time you would think she came from money when she grew up poor as a church mouse.

When my first wife was expecting our daughter we went to a family reunion and this aunt asked me if I was excited about the baby and how I was going to handle It.
I just shrugged and told her “I grew up on a farm, I still farm. I have 60 head of cattle, 2 sows, six dogs and a horse. I’m used to dealing with half wild animals. I’ll just train the kid up the same way I trained everything else.”
The look of horror on her face was priceless!

Her brothers were standing nearby and almost busted out laughing.
They were too nice to burst her pretentious bubble but loved it when I did it.

I never told her. She had a year of nursing school, and the brainwashing they do makes her think that a DR is god.

Just used good old fashion sense and what worked for generations. Baby powder is nothing but perfumed cornstarch nowadays. And those disposable diapers trap wetness and heat and cause diaper rash.

My boys had cloth diapers and training pants.
