The majority of the people engaged in sin prior to the flood. God still destroyed them all with the exception of Noah and his family. Wrong is wrong, regardless how many do it.

Again, sex is allowed only between one man, and one woman, both of whom are married to each other. Anything else is an abomination.

No one knows any body else’s relationship with God. The people you know may have repented and been forgiven.

We do know He’s not crazy about unrepentant fornication. I never understood that until I grew up and read and understood the Bible.

From a secular point of view, look at the heavy economic, mental and spiritual consequences to get a clue as to why His guidebook would steer people away from fornication.
