The Nazis didn't hate communism so much as they hated Russians, for one reason or another. But they did actually share a lot of commonalities. Until Hitler's surprise attack on the Soviets, they were allies.

The differences between communism and fascism can certainly be pointed out, but so can the differences between two pigs. In practice, both are systems where a person's rights depends upon their rank in government. But if you're not part of the ruling class, you're expendable.
