Expensive tickets, superior home viewing systems, Netflix and other streaming services, bad movies, and too much CGI. Why would people possibly stay home?

Left wing crap, left wing crap, left wing crap. Even if a movie isn’t political at all, we suspect it will be. We’re tired of paying to be beaten over the head by people who hate us.

Why would “Blade Runner 2049” be a big hit when the 1982 movie wasn’t?

Wonder why they stole the title of a completely different story for it too. (Neither movie was based on “The Bladerunner” by Alan Nourse, but on “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Philip Dick.)

Just following the example of Hillary and blaming others.

Waiting for Weinstein to say he was abused as a child as the reasons for his actions as an adult.

I don’t go to movies much. Some people I know, who are into Netflix and video streaming and the wide screen TV, tell me they never go to movies, because they know they can see it in a couple months at home anyway.

I wonder how many people just don’t go to movies anymore due to such reasons.

No plot, no character development, lousy “leading men” actors, non-stop strobe lights flashing, things exploding, overblown special FX, recycled themes. Yuck, yuck, and more yuck.

Then the movie theater scene sucks big time. Bright cells phones all over, people talking, ENDLESS LOUD previews with strobe lights.

Where are the “leading men” like Fonda, Stewart, Wayne, Welles, Peck, Bogart, Grant, Crosby, Tracy, Cooper, Brando, Newman, Gable, etc. I honestly cannot think of a “leading man” actor in the past 30 years that rises to the stature of the movie actors of the 40s through 60s.

Movies were so much better years ago (and I’m talking in the 40s before I was born and in the 50s when I was too little to know about them and had no way to watch them even if I knew about them).

Movies and NFL — two sides of the same coin.

It was a three hour movie! I don’t want to sit around, no breaks in a theatre, no matter how comfortable for a movie. Broadway style show I might make it out of simple dynamics of the performance but a movie? Our home theatre is like floating on clouds in surround sound.

Film reviewers over time have become self-described art critics, more and more disconnected from the audience. It's not like the good old days when Bosley Crowther would tell it to you straight. So, I basically don't care what the critics think.

I didn't go to Blade Runner because the previews looked boring, all CGI stuff. Besides, it won't be long until it's out on Redbox or Netflix.

I really don’t want to be around the 48% that voted for Hillary and support Kaepernick and BLM either.

We used to go to the movies about once a month. Now it is maybe three times a year.

When we go we tend to see action movies that take advantage of the big screen and intense sound systems.

“Regular” dramas and comedies might as well be watched at home.

We have a new Flix Brewhouse in town. Great place. Comfy chairs, food service (very good food), craft brews. Took my son and wife to see the new Kingsman movie. It cost over $100 and the not so subtle political message wasn’t appreciated.

We’ll see the new Thor and Star Wars in a theater, but nothing else.

“The film, one of the most anticipated of the year, seemed to have all the necessary ingredients with two popular leading men and an original that has gained cult status since its release in 1982.”

“Popular” leading men is a totally misleading statement in this case. Harrison Ford was “popular”, twenty or thirty years ago, but is virtually retired at this point and probably not a big draw for younger audiences. Ryan Gosling may be “popular” with the ladies, but ladies aren’t usually the target demographic for sci fi films, and most guys I talk to despise him. I think this film is suffering badly from miscasting the lead.

Let’s see, Hollywood defecates from a great height on the majority of their customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week and they are shocked, shocked that these people don’t obediently line up to pay exorbitant prices for their mediocre product. That is indeed a great surprise.

I’ve got an idea: maybe they should start the film with a waving American flag backdrop, play the national anthem, and have the entire cast and crew “take a knee”...

Hollywood, the NFL... just more of the liberal leftist rot afflicting a once great nation.

the movie industry has always aimed for the young viewers...they are not getting them because of other forms of entertainment. I am 50 and occasionally see a movie. what I see missing is the 15-25 year olds that made up 90 percent of the audience when I was between 15 and 25. when I go most of those I actually see in the movie theater are my age. gone is the time when 2 weeks after the opening you have kids going for the second or third time to the same movie.

My gosh. We have been watching Designated Survivor and finding it tolerable. So a show about a national tragedy where most elected officials are killed by bombs and mideastern terrorists suddenly becomes all about gun control, complete with every damned liberal canard.

Isn’t there anything we can watch anymore without intrusion from the communists?

Back in the day when I went to theaters, I judged a flick by how long it took me to start checking my watch. Now at home, I judge a flick by how long it takes me to wish all the characters were dead.
