Er. It’s a Gas Giant. Not an ice giant.
Jupiter and Saturn are gas giants. Uranus and Neptune are ice giants.
Definition:
“An ice giant is a giant planet composed mainly of elements heavier than hydrogen and helium, such as oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur.”
Uranus ? Gas giant ? Something smells about this.
So, there’s a lot of gas in Uranus?
Somehow, Uranus sounds far more disgusting as a gas giant.

It’s true that Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are formally called, “gas giants.” But Uranus has way, way, way more ice than gas, so it’s literally more accurate to call it an ice giant. It’s a VERY different planet, structurally, than Jupiter, because it’s mostly ammonia, methane and water ice, whereas Jupiter is mostly metallic hydrogen.
Yup. Uranus is a gas planet.
