On a more serious note, unless you have a dark sky, you probably won’t see it.

I plan on going to my clubs dark sky site and look for Uranus (U-RAN-us would be the pronunciation in Latin), and I know where to look, so, if I do see it naked eye, I will be surprised.

And besides, the scientist changed the name of the 7th planet to finally kill that joke.

It’s now called “Urectum”. (Thanks Professor Farnsworth!)

I have a pair of Nikon image stabilized 16x32 binoculars, and I was disappointed, because the sky was crystal clear when my workday was over, but I had an event I had to go to, and when I came out around 9:30 PM...it was cloudy.

Damn.

I was just getting ready to go to bed, and thought I would take a look to see if there was a break in the clouds, and...there it was! Right on the elliptical...

It was clearly visible without binoculars, but when you look at it...good gosh, it has that beautiful shade of blue you see in the pictures!

First time in my life I have ever seen it...:)
