What is interesting is that the ancient astronomers were oblivious. The Greeks may have had another god, if they noticed.

Urania was the muse of astronomy, and the astronomers at the time preferred her name to the one that John Herschel, the discover had proposed, namely ‘Georgium Sidium’ or ‘George’s Star’, after King George III.
