An Australian woman who stabbed and killed her grandfather claimed that the TV show American Horror Story inspired her to commit the crime, The New York Times reported.
In August 2016, Brittney Jade Dwyer, 20, murdered her 81-year-old grandfather, Robert Whitwell, in his Craigmore home.
Dwyer and her friend Bernadette Burns, 22, traveled to Whitwells home in Adelaide with plans to steal his lifesavings. The two promised to do whatever was necessary to get their hands on the money.
The girls arrived at Whitwells home at 11 a.m. Burns waited in the car while Dwyer entered the house with a knife and rubber gloves, according to court documents.
After looking at old family photographs and videos with her grandfather, Dwyer reportedly texted Burns that she could not go through with it. Burns replied with encouragement, saying that she had to do it because they had come all this way.
Right before leaving Whitwells home, Dwyer stabbed her grandfather in the chest and neck. She then proceeded to wash dishes in his kitchen while he bled to death on the floor. Dwyer then sent a text message to Burns saying, Its done.
Burns then entered the home and the two girls searched for the savings. They left with $1,000, coins, and two digital cameras, but failed to find the $110,000 savings that was hidden in Whitwells shed.
Whitwells body was discovered three days later. Both women were arrested on August 26 and pleaded guilty to the murder.
During a presentencing hearing on Wednesday, Dwyer claimed to have been motivated by the FX series American Horror Story.(snip)
Caldicott asked the sentencing judge, Justice Kevin Nicholson, to show leniency because of her young age.

censorship has its charms.
Some human brains cannot stand up to the advertising that these shows promote.
The shows themselves.
What? You think the only persuasion on television happens at commercial time?
Whether it is Breaking Bad with drug production
Nurse what’s-her-name and addiction
American Horror and killings
The Zombie shows and death
or all the mortuary shows and murder
You are getting the culture you advertise for.
The creators of South Park parodied this modern phenomenon calling it “murder porn.” People get “high” off of this trash on TV, and the Hollyweirdoes are pushing the limits more and more every year.
I find it amusing that the media ignore stories like this because, “Oh, we can’t control what people do when they watch our TV shows,” but a mass homicide like what happened in Las Vegas and “we wouldn’t have these problems if there weren’t so many GUNS!” Hollywood “innocence” vs. God-given right.
Cut the cord, people! You’re paying for this crap!
Coupla’ dykes, guaranteed. Poor old grandpa...
“An Australian woman who stabbed and killed her grandfather claimed that the TV show American Horror Story inspired her to commit the crime...”
She would’ve done well in US politics as a democrat...especially if she’d been tutored by the Clintons.
My opinion...take Breaking Bad off your list, add in rap and hip hop.
Apparently there is an entitlement mentality at work here where if you don't get what you want you're allowed to kill the person who refused you and take their stuff anyway.
Bernie voters have this mentality, although I'm not sure if most of them would kill you to get your stuff, they're too cowardly and lazy for that and rely on the government to do their robbing for them.
My opinion...take Breaking Bad off your list, add in rap and hip hop.

If I had a nickel for every toothless druggie who talked about breaking bad....
I can add rap, hip hop death metal...
We can agree on death metal.
I enjoy watching crime dramas like Law and Order, zombie shows like The Walking Dead and Fear TWD,and anti-hero shows like Sons of Anarchy and Ozark. I don’t watch American Horror Story, but did watch Penny Dreadful. I’ve never considered killing anyone after watching these programs. By the way I also enjoy playing violent video games from time to time.
That doesn’t really resemble any of the killing I remember from AHS. Maybe in the new season, or maybe she’s just making crap up.
“Well, that’s great! That sets a legal precedent. Does that mean I can sue Dan Fogelberg for making me into a pussy in the mid-70’s? Is that possible, huh? Huh? “Your Honor, between him and James Taylor, I didn’t get a b... j.. ‘till I was twenty-seven years old. I was in Colorado wearing hiking boots, eating granola. I want some f........ money right now!”

It’s worth a shot.
Let us know if it works out. I’ll be right behind you if it works for you. Even if such a suit smacks of Cloward Piven system overload, if such tactics work, you have to participate as the ship goes down.
Yes I understand that many people are not influenced to a great extent by the television shows they watch. However many people are...for advertising is essentially what it is.
I dunno... what did I watch last? HEHEHE.... It was in color... that is all I can remember about it.
It was Space 1999! I remember it clearly now!
