I was telling my 5th grade daughter that if I were leading a group of people who had a big presentation to a customer and a women on the team showed up wearing a bikini I would pretend I didn't notice and when she presented every other man in the room would also pretend they didn't notice. She thought that was insane and I was full of it. So I said "when we get home, let's ask your mom what she think I should do in that scenario." I did ask her and her response: "don't say anything, pretend you don't notice".

Because that's how scared men are of women now days. Even if we know we are 100% in the right, we also know that we will be jettisoned in a new york minute of some women says her feelings were hurt. Somehow having all men treat women as land mines to be walked around very gently is good for women. Somehow.

If you follow THOSE guidelines you can bet they will say you are creating a hostile work place because you don’t speak to them unless they speak to you and that is only to answer a direct question or return a ‘hello’.

I went through that with ‘office personnel’ but at the time and with the owners, I was ‘worth more’ to the company than them BUT they(owners) agreed I should keep my office time to a minimum.
