And we beat the snot out of the International team in the President’s Cup.
Not the MLS, but I will say that more people will be following the Premier League/La Liga/Bundesliga et. al.
But even with the MLS we are starting to see huge crowds, I attended an Atlanta United game at Bobby Dodd, where they had well over 40,000. And in the new stadium they are even outdrawing the Falcons. But we have to face facts that it's always going to be a secondary league, much like smaller European leagues like the Dutch League.....the days of Ajax winning European titles are long over, since now the best players from the smaller Euro countries play for the biggest Euro Leagues.
One of the greatest players in Manchester United history, Dwight Yorke, is from T&T, so they have produced their share of talent.
General comment,
I do enjoy low-level professional soccer, we saw some USL games, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Soccer_League
and there are leagues even below that, I read about one match, less than 2,000 people showed up... but back to the USL, it was a good environment without the stadium being jammed-pack.
And hopefully, they keep politics out of it.
And T and T gave England a good game back in ‘06 in the World Cup. 2-0 but still. And Shaka Hislop was the goalkeeper for T and T.

In fact, England did not score until the 83rd minute and then, again in extra time. Sort of the way, France had problems putting Togo away at the same tournament.
FC Cincinnati is getting big crowds. 30,000+ for the US Open semi against NYRB.
Does anyone think it was a knee jerk reaction to fire Bradley? Sometimes, it is best to stick with a coach. He did to pretty well actually, though I’d have to look at our results again for when we parted ways.
I still wish we had Bora, he was the best coach we ever had.
Also, per the Panama game, I agree, it’s not worth being concerned about if the goal was bad, file a request on it just in case. But who might also be concerned about it, is Honduras, as it is, Honduras will have to play in the intercontinental playoff versus Australia, not an overwhelming task by any means, but still.
These bad calls are part of soccer, so in a way, it’s no big deal for me; but I’d rather have the automatic advancement, if I were Honduras than those playoffs.
Oz will defeat Honduras, that’s what I think... but I’d give Honduras a chance. Should be a good series.
Just in case, anyone missed Panama’s ghost goal:

Calls, some erroneous, is as we all know, just a part of the game.
Syria was so close to beating Oz, but the free kick clanked off the post.
That would be great; payback for the invasion in 1939, Katyn, and decades of occupation/suppression...
Yes, the pro-deviant messages are overwhelming; besides the uniform gaiety, the cameras LOVE to focus on those homo flags.
Now they have four years to grow up and focus on soccer.
I live in a town that had 3 starters on the US team in ‘94 (when we hosted the World Cup); I’ve heard about the impending explosion of popularity for soccer here in the US in 1994, in 2004, in 2014...it won’t happen. People mistake the high participation in youth soccer programs for a new generation of fans, but it hasn’t materialized.
If soccer wants to broaden its appeal it should start by removing at least two players from each team on the field; more flow of play...
Hey, it was two against one. No fair! ;-)
Sounds like a broken record from your previous post on another thread.
MLS didn’t exist in 1994. You suggest changing the rules of the game to create more flow? 9 player teams?
LOL!
You sound like every (American) soccer fan that tells me that we can win the World Cup...because we beat Italy in a friendly - the first and only time we beat Italy (even though it wasn’t even their backup squad; it was their third-stringers).
Keep trying the same thing and expecting different outcomes; keep the faith!
Yes, guys within a few years of me (older & younger) were the “lost generation” who grew up with the Cosmos playing in nearby Giants Stadium, led great high school teams, then watched that league fold. They went on to get other work where they could as their hopes of playing professionally fell apart, some coached high school soccer programs, some played for colleges, and some played indoor soccer.
The recent T&T loss for the US illustrated why reducing the number of players could improve the action; like Italy in the ‘94 World Cup, a determined team can simply park everyone on defense and make for a slow, boring game. Thankfully Italy wasn’t rewarded for the strategy, losing in the penalty kicks they seemed to believe would deliver them the World Cup.
You clearly don’t know me. I think the gringo national team is cannon fodder these days and hardly worthy of watching.
When the coach decides for has-been’s like DeMarcus Beasley, it’s called desperation.
All I’m saying is give MLS a few more years. If they play their cards right (and don’t allow the homo lobby to completely take over among other things) it may just work.
