Jessica Chastain Says She Was ‘Warned From the Beginning’ About Harvey Weinstein’s History of Sexual Harassment

Perhaps like you, Jessica Chastain has been weighing in on social media with her thoughts on the recently revealed history of sexual harassment surrounding heavyweight Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. The Academy Award-winning actress took to Twitter Monday to offer her opinion on the many moving parts of the still-unfolding scandal, retweeting Vulture’s own “heart shattering” story on allegations that Matt Damon and Russell Crowe had a hand in stifling similar accusations against Weinstein in 2004, and praising Kate Winslet’s acknowledgement that the Avatar 2 actress had, in fact, heard rumors about Weinstein’s sexual misconduct against employees and actresses in the past. Unlike Winslet and fellow actress Glenn Close, however, Chastain hadn’t dismissed the rumors about Weinstein, nor was she blindsided by them like Meryl Streep or Judi Dench reported to be in their respective statements. No, Jessica Chastain has been keeping thorough tabs on Weinstein’s sexual harassment scandal because she knew it was brewing this entire time. “I was warned from the beginning. The stories were everywhere,” the Molly’s Game actress revealed on Twitter. Admitting that Weinstein’s reputation was, in fact, actually a well-known secret, Chastain suggests, is the only way to change how sexual harassment is addressed in the entertainment industry. Tweeted Chastain, “To deny that is to create an enviornment for it to happen again.”

What did Matt Drudge know and when did he know it?

I can understand the New York Times sitting on a story like this for decades, but how did Drudge not get wind of it? Or did he, and nobody paid attention?

> The stories were everywhere

It must have been hard to believe that a Hollywood executive was forcing himself on grown women instead of young boys.

In spite of the dominance of the “fake news” artists in America today, the means of exposing something like this are still there and that is a good thing. Evil cannot stand exposure. Their gig is to cover up their hedonism and decadence, for they want their lust for power and sex to be unleased. They resent anything which might stop them from their uncivilized behavior. Some kill to protect those things. Good people rejoice when evil is seen for what it is and the exposure of these things is cleansing for society.

Weinstein has lots of lawyers. To break a story like this, you need victims willing to go on the record.

If Jessica Chastain already heard this, does that mean Bryce Dallas Howard also knew?

“I can understand the New York Times sitting on a story like this for decades, but how did Drudge not get wind of it? Or did he, and nobody paid attention?”

He tried that once with Sidney Blumenthal supposedly cheating on his wife...wound up being a setup to take down Drudge, and very nearly succeeded.

Drudge now is much less trusting of others who won’t go on the record for him.

Isn’t Harvey Weinstein one of those powerful, out of control one percenters that liberals always hate?

Weinstein is the poster boy for how the rich, powerful leftist see the rest of us.
We are expendable, disposable peasants to be used at their pleasure.
And to cut their grass.

The stories lead me to believe that Weinstein wasn't a harasser... he was an abuser and a predator.

Let's cut to the chase.

Wouldn’t this be a good time for the Hollywood elites to turn this whole thing into a condemnation of all men? After all, isn’t this really their view of how all men act?

Ironic how Hollyweird was blind to Harvey Wine Stain’s antics but yet have perfect 20-20 insight as to all things political

"so she knew and did nothing....got it..."

In her defense, other than convincing victims to come forward, what exactly could she do? If she had no direct knowledge but just the Hollywood gossip circle and said anything, I'm sure Weinstein's lawyers would have come after her with both barrels for slander. And if no one stepped forward to corroborate her allegations, they would have won.

"allegations that Matt Damon and Russell Crowe had a hand in stifling similar accusations against Weinstein in 2004"

This may start to go badly for big time Hollywood people. If it starts to come to light that a bunch of them were enablers of Weinstein, more people may be in trouble. But it's ok, they can just come out and condemn Trump and the NRA and all will be forgiven...

And Conservatives were derided for believing Pizzagate?
No, I have no doubt that Hollywood and the Democrat Party are in the business of sexually abusing people of all ages and covering the crimes up for one another.

We may have to consider a new phrase.

The media dug in their archives to find a single Trump comment from a decade ago that branded him a pussy grabber, but ignored evidence in plain sight that Weinstein was likely a rapist and certainly a sexual harasser for at least a decade. Ditto for Bill Clinton. Liberals are hypocrites.

Unfortunately, that goes both ways these days. “Conservatives” used to think adultery and other stuff like this was bad, but these days not so much. On Free Republic, it was really bad when Bill Clinton did it, others not so much.

Seriously though, this whole story has been enlightening on why the women of Hollywood are man-haters.
