A Queens public-school teacher — fired for warning his fifth graders to “quiet down or someone will come in and shoot us” and showing up late or skipping school 76 times in two years — is suing for his job back.
At PS 101 in Flushing in January 2014, he told students to “put your f–king hands down” before warning, “If you guys do not quiet down then someone will come in and shoot us,” according to departmental charges.
Tefler — wearing an American-flag thong — told a Post reporter in the hallway of his apartment building, “Not today, I’m busy.”

That’s amazing, a teacher’s actually being fired. If he wants his job back, he shouldn’t have appeared in the American Flag thong. That’s racist!
He should never be allowed near children again in any capacity.

I’m so old, I remember when the word ‘thongs’ meant rubber flip-flops.
And every one of them has a master’s degree. ugh
I remember that, too. But when the word is singular, and it’s on a man, it’s time to find a safer thread.
I remember back when there were no thongs in the US. My uncle was stationed in Japan and brought back some thongs. If they weren’t weird enough, he had socks that were made for them, with the big toe in its own little pocket separate from the other toes.
YEP and We paid for most of them I suspect.
If he’s gay, he’ll get his job back. If he’s also black, he will be promoted to principal.

I doubt that too many FReepers report on all the teachers who DO NOTHING WRONG. Most are hard working people.

Some are I agree but I personally think the ones that say nothing and do these things are in the Majority. Just my personal opinion have no numbers but see what is being turned out, makes you wonder.

What’s being “turned out” are all of my kids and all of my grandkids-——all public school educated and doing just fine.
