We were talking about the gun-runner hypothesis last night. Someone had speculated this was a gun deal gone bad. My thought was, if you were transferring an arsenal of high powered weapons and ammunition, would you do it from a 32nd floor hotel room? Requiring carrying all that stuff upstairs and then carrying it all back down? I think we can cross that theory off the list.

I don't really believe the whole 'gun running' theory, but I don't see why being on the 32nd floor would have anything to do with it. You take the luggage dolly down to your car, you load it, go to the elevator, and press a floor - what does it matter what floor you get off on, the elevator is doing the work. Also, being in a suite offers a lot more privacy, it's less suspicious taking lots of luggage, and they typically are located on higher floors, with better views. IF I wanted privacy for some illicit activity, I would probably want a suite, and it would probably be on a higher floor.

Re: the 32nd floor and guns

Every year for the last 5 I’ve attended the national Field Target match and gone with associates into hotels with the luggage dolly filled to the top with rifle cases and equipment cases/dope bags. Nobody ever really even gives it a second thought.
