LOL..... Chargers can’t even sell out a 27,000 seat stadium. Tarping off seats in the smallest NFL stadium???

Yep there was great demand in LA for a 2nd NFL team.

Sarcasm.

There will be no government funding for the new stadium that the Chargers will play in.

The Chargers situation is a little different than the NFL as a whole. They moved to a city that didn’t want them and had zero interest in them, to a 27000 seat stadium. When they play games, it is very easy for an opponent’s fans to get more tickets than Chargers fans, because there are none up there, and any who still care about them in San Diego won’t travel up there. They probably have about 5-10,000 people coming to see them as fans and the rest are buying tickets from brokers to see the team from their original home town.

The issue with visiting fans didn’t become bad in San Diego until their last two years there when the team was really bad and threatening to move. People bought tickets, but they sold them to opposing teams as the season wore on.

Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta was less than half full yesterday. My daughter bought tickets for my birthday so I went to the game. Falcons are 3-0 and defending NFC Champs, Bills were 2-1 and sporting one of the best defenses in the NFL this year and with one of the best traveling and loyal fan-bases in the NFL. So, by all indications an excellent match up that should have been packed not played to a half empty stadium.

Psycho killer rampages can happen anywhere. But there
are some interesting aspects related to the forthcoming
move of the Raiders to Vegas. Regardless of what any
of us or all of us may think about gambling the Nevada
Gaming Commission (I think that is what it’s called) is
extremely serious about keeping things on the up and up
when it comes to any kind of betting, sports betting
included. Obviously we know that players throwing a game
is illegal even though we know that teams will expend
different levels of effort late in the season depending
on the playoff situation.

I am not prepared to claim that the Raiders O line is
taking a knee for their white QB but if they are, at the
very least they are jeopardizing the team’s move
to Vegas and more importantly they can blow the NFL
to hell. And , I’m guessing that the NFL will do
all in their power to keep all relevant info on the
down low.

Further, I am thinking that Limbaugh may be wrong when
he asserts that the Democrats will kill the NFL if
they can. If they can remake it into their private
cash cow they won’t hesitate, concussion concerns
not withstanding. It wouldn’t be the first time the
Rats played both ends against the middle.

Will only watch the Eagles, and only them, because they were the only team to fully honor the anthem and the flag.

Roger Goodell and Jerry Jones orchestrated the relocation deal a few years ago with the current plan solving several problems. The NFL had to do something with Oakland and San Diego, as their stadium deals were horrible, and the NFL is all about having these showcase arenas.

Stan Kroenke, owner of the Rams, had $2Billion burning a hole in his pocket, and the NFL desperately wanted football to return to SoCal. As the only of the three owners with expendable cash, it had to be Kroenke that moved to LA, but the NFL had to placate Spanos and Davis, who have been waiting much longer to move to LA. Jones came up with the idea of sharing the new LA stadium among two teams, like the Meadowlands complex in New Jersey, but Kroenke knew that the Raiders were much more popular than the Rams. He didn't want to compete with the Raiders for fans.

The NFL made a deal with Spanos, so that he gets free use of the new stadium in order to block Oakland, who then lined up a sweet deal in Vegas.

In a way, St. Louis is probably better off that Kroenke left. He'd already extorted plans for a 2nd tax-supported stadium, even though the first dome won't be paid off for several more years.

It hurt seeing the Rams leave St. Louis a few years ago. I was already halfway done with football for that reason, and now with this anthem protest, I'm completely done.

Yes, the stats don’t look that different, but watching the game, the protection was better - the whole offense looked better. Keep in mind EJ Manuel is a backup who hasn’t played much in 3 years and wasn’t that good when he did play. Just my observation, though.

Looks like the other "Football" is king in Atlanta.

Hey, look at that! They managed to use “Chargers”, “loyalty”, and “fans” in the same sentence!

Years ago there was a waiting list for season tickets, when the strike happened and games were canceled I asked for a refund I was told no way, now they are begging for ticket buyers.
