Use of Powerful Large-Animal Tranquilizer Rises Among Opioid Addicts

As U.S. law enforcement struggles to develop effective screening methods for fentanyl, a federal narcotics official last week warned against the rise of carfentanil, a large-animal tranquilizer that is considered about 50 times stronger.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is regarded as anywhere from 10 to 100 times stronger than the most commonly used opiate, morphine. Carfentanil, also a synthetic opioid, is used to sedate elephants and is considered about 50 times stronger than fentanyl.

I thought that’s what PCP was? Whatever happened to that stuff? You never heard about it since the Rodney King days.

I wonder what percentage of the drug traffic is funneled through veterinarians? There is a veterinary college opening almost yearly and the number of veterinarians is increasing exponentially thereby decreasing the quality of the pool of applicants entering the colleges. This inundation of the profession with lower academic and moral applicants can only result in more veterinarians willing to break the law to increase their salaries. I’m seeing it daily.

A lot of this stuff is being manufactured in the far east, primarily China, and enters our country through our “secure” southern border. As Obama opened the immigration floodgates, the opium, heroin, and synthetics followed.

(Timmy) I, I’m gonna take this aspirin, Mr. Wizard.

(Mr. Wizard) That’s not an aspirin, Timmy.

(Timmy) Sure looks like an aspirin!

(Mr. Wizard) But it’s not, Timmy!

(Timmy) It tastes like an aspirin.

(Mr. Wizard) Dangerous drugs, Timmy!

(Timmy (muffled) I swallowed it.

(Mr. Wizard) Timmy! That pill was designed to stun buffaloes when mixed with buffalo food!

(Timmy [snide adult voice]:) Oh wow! Oh my god. ...
...
..all over the place, Don!

(Mr. Wizard) For God’s sake, sit down, Timmy!

(Timmy) Right, Don!

(Mr. Wizard) ... Let this be a lesson to you Timmy, and to all of Timmy’s little friends out there. Never tamper with the awesome powers of science! Science is your future, Timmy... and the future... is in your hands.

(Timmy) And I hafta eat with those hands, Don!

(Mr. Wizard) Sit down, Timmy.

(Timmy) I am sitting, Don!

(Mr. Wizard) My name is Mr. Wizard, Timmy.

(Timmy) Right, Don. ...wow! I really do like this music, Don!

Possibly...

Chemically speaking it's not that hard to make carfentanil from fentanyl, IMHO. (I'm a chemist.)

If you can make meth in a trailer park...

Refuse emergency care, unless the idiot has cash to pay for saving their lives, in advance!

Lets begin to look at these cases as "DNR (do not resuscitate) Advance Directives.

If people want to commit suicide, let us make it easy for them and us!

Where’s Dexter? I think the last time we saw him was in a logging camp in Oregon but I just feel that somehow he’s involved.

People have always done stupid stuff for a buzz. I remember in college seeing people crushing up quaaludes and smoking them in a bong. Must’ve hit hard and fast, a lot of them fell out of their chair.

NARCAN is very limited in what it can stop. Even a little bit too much carfentanil and even dozens of injections wouldn’t be enough. It is an almost guaranteed poison.

And serious consideration is being given to declare it a WMD, and put it under WMD rules. That is, the same penalties for smuggling it and smuggling plutonium or nerve agent.

As in life in a federal maximum security penitentiary.

True...but unfortunately the dealers will soon learn how to control the dosing....currently it’s pretty much every man for himself because there’s always another potential druggie in line. There is an end game to this once they get it corrected.

BTW....A good Part of this is warfare....via China where it’s all coming from.

Probably a good idea.....China's the culprit in flooding the US with it...brought in easily over our borders....concealed much much easier than all others. Harder to detect. China seeks greatly to weaken this nation...one of several actually. But they are actively doing so manufacturing both fentanil and cafentanil. Basically we are under attack...in more ways than any realize.

The opoid epidemic is not like others. The drug companies have a long history of false claims that their dugs aren’t addictive. Metadone, heroin, morphine, SSRIs, bipolar and ADD meds... the list of this criminal fraud is quite extensive. For some reason these corporate drug pushers have been allowed to get away with this. However the opoids are a new class. They are addictive like nothing else. Most of these addicts are created by doctors. The drug salesmen lied outright both about the uses of the drug and their addictive properties to the doctors. It is past time that these scum who push highly addictive substances and then lie about them were treated as the mass murderers they are.

Drugs are a scourge that is destroying our civilization. The companies know what they are doing. They don’t care.

Good thing there is this big crack-down on prescription opiates. Now those with valid reasons for seeking pain relief will join those looking for a buzz. The end result is swelling of demand for black market product. And with stuff so potent like carb/fentanyl you only need to smuggle small volumes - good luck stemming THAT pipeline.

But there will be smug smiles on the faces of those who, through their do-goodines, make things worse.

That has gotta hurt. Some hunter shoots you with a tranquilizer dart, you fall out of the tree, they draw “samples” from you then you wake up all groggy.....
