FULL TITLE: Ratings tumble: NFL's Sunday Night Football sees an eight percent decline in viewers following a weekend of criticism from President Donald Trump

The NFL’s Sunday Night Football ratings were down again after a weekend in which President Donald Trump repeatedly criticized the league’s players for kneeling during the national anthem.

On a day when around 200 NFL players engaged in some form of protest against racial inequality in America by kneeling, sitting, locking arms, or raising a fist during the playing of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner,’ the league endured its worst ratings for Sunday Night Football this season. The Washington Redskins’ 27-10 win over the visiting Oakland Raiders netted an 11.6 rating, which is the worst of the three Sunday night games this season, according to Deadline.com.

That’s down eight percent from the Week 2 Sunday night matchup between Atlanta and Green Bay and down 10 percent from the NFL’s Week 3 game a year ago.

The Raiders-Redskins game peaked with a 12.5 in the second quarter, according to Deadline.com.

Now WHY would it be first announced as 10% but shrink to 8%? You Madison Avenue guys are being taken for a ride.

How many tuned in just to see what the reaction was to Trump?

Taking a knee or hiding in the locker room is the most gutless, wimpy thing they could do.

They should all donate a year’s salary to the NAACP.

That would teach all of us a lesson.

And this wasn’t Carolina and Jacksonville. It was the Raiders and Redskins, who have a considerable national following.

I think it’s down 10% from a year ago and 8% a week ago, that’s how I read it. BTW, down 10% from last year when we were in the home stretch of the election is big. Remember it’s the election that the NFL blamed for weak ratings last year.

I wouldn't be surprised that the Cowboys at Cardinals game tonight get good ratings--because the Cowboys have a HUGE national following.

Not sure what to make of this. The wife of one of the Titans says they and the Seahawks were tricked. They were in their respective locker rooms, and according to her were not told the anthem was playing. I.e.: they didn’t skip it by choice; they were kept in the dark about the timing.

Yep. Declining attendance, falling concession revenues, lower merchandise sales, shrinking viewership on TV, etc.

8%? Needs to be 80% drop.

The NFL is just the beginning....I believe this will spread to other areas of the media and entertainment industry, which is dominated by the Left. People cutting cable, stop going to movies, etc., so Hollywood starts feeling it.

The only problem is, Hollywood is somewhat innoculated because they now get a lot of their profits from overseas.

So, I tuned into the Sunday night game. Once the Anthem was on, I saw at least 6-8 players on each sideline kneeling like a bunch of pukes. I turned off the TV.
I will still attempt to watch Vikings games until I hear them acting like fools too.
I like football, so spare me of any of your comments. I will watch what I want, and turn off the rest.

Depends on what they do. Cowboys said they are planning on a “unity statement” before tonight’s game.
