It was! I've seen 2001 a number of times. Hubby loves it. I like it right up to the weirdness at the end. But I don't watch sci-fi to make my brain hurt or get depressed. The original Blade Runner was pretty good. The Day the Earth Stood Still . The War of the Worlds . The Black Hole . And my all-time fave, Forbidden Planet .
