This protest was always about one thing: Black people saying “f-you” to whitey then DARING someone to object.
It started when Kolin Kaepernick got benched and his racist girlfriend whispered in his ear.

Spot on. Trump merely lanced the boil, bringing the divide into the open.

Athletes can pick and choose any public statement they wish to make.

They cannot pick and choose the public reaction to their actions.

Yea, we are currently in a “Cold” Civil War, but it will only take a spark to make it “Hot”. What or when that spark will occur is anyone’s guess, but I know what the outcome will be.

This can all be tied in with antifa, blm, soros, the dims....they’ve all wanted to do away with the flag, the Constitution, etc. Recall moochelle commenting, all this for a flag? Bam you not placing his ha d over his heart and all the you didn’t build it nonsense. It is the early stages of CW 2 initiated in 2008. It has gotten truly hit yet.

For whatever reason blacks don’t seem to like to swim. We need to start a sport played in a deep pool.

How we can remain a “union” is beyond me.

**************

We certainly are not United. The social fabric of the country is no longer a tightly woven cloth. We are a sharply bifurcated nation with what appears to be widening irreconcilable differences.

My advice to all Freeper's is to free yourself from you cable bill and find an outdoor hobby you love.

I saved $1200 bucks this year. It was an adjustment for about two weeks but you know what wasn't hard ? No cable bill.

Now my biggest problem is what to do with all these mailers from Charter begging me to come back.

The question is, how long will you actively support people who insult you and your heritage at every opportunity?

The fallback position among NFL addicts is “it’s only a few” that are protesting. Well, the numbers are growing and the NFL is actively supporting it now.

We were season ticket holders fro 15 years. New stadium sucked and clientele went downhill. Dropped tickets. Now we don’t watch on TV either.

Maybe they’ll reform someday. If not, no great loss as the game has become a bore with too many interruptions anyway.

What we have in the “United” States, is not a united country.

What we have are two countries pretending that we can all get along. Being in denial about the realities will just cause a lot more grief and stress for the next few decades and perhaps forever. This country is not a single country, as long as the national divide indicates that we are not a “United States”.

The country will eventually have to come to grips with the reality that we can’t continue to exist with so many different ways of thinking and governing.

Perhaps California needs to go its own way, and we’ll take it from there, with perhaps NY and Massachusetts being next in line to leave the “union”. A more perfect union is not what we have, and it’s actually a very fractured “country”.

As a VN era enlistee in the USN, I feel personally disrespected by this show of contempt to the Country I served with honor and put my life on the line for. I was an avid football fan, but have not tuned in for one second yet this season. Business based sports are dead to me.

This is AstroTurf of a different type.

these are manufactured protests to incite turmoil.
A no talent quarterback kneels to protest the historical abuses of black people. The media latches on to it to generate attention. It goes viral.

The media redefines the protest as being against Trump and America. Trump labeled a white supremacist and blacks jump in to the fray. The media ups the volume. Trump fights back. Democrats are overjoyed because the voters don't like tension and will surely turn on Trump.

I agree. I am completely closeted in public life here in Los Angeles. Bad things would happen to my children if I were allowed to express my politics. So I cannot. The divide is that great. The tolerant lefties and their massive country full of Gullibles who fall for their scams are against violence except for Trump and his supporters, to whom they wish death or ostracism.

I don’t know how to reach these Gullibles. They are so wrong. They think we are evil, but they are dead wrong, is the problem, but they are gullible so they can’t see it. Their media, which they believe is unbiased “news” information, tells them Trump has created the divide. They believe Trump caused the white supremacists to kill people in Charlottesville. They have zero understanding of what really happened and of what Trump actually said afterward. They think he has emboldened a huge number of white people who hate nonwhites.

THERE IS NO NUMBER OF WHITE PEOPLE WHO HATE NONWHITES in the USA. I don’t think we could find a smaller problem in this country. There is no fear in the USA of actual white people or police (who are not all white) harming people of color. Yes, there exist white racists. But it isn’t a societal problem. It is too small to worry about. The leftists have posed this as a threat and the Gullibles have believed it. Basically the Leftists have pulled a Charles Manson, only the Gullibles believe in Helter Skelter now instead of knowing it’s full on insane.
