A legitimate potential punishment for such thugs ought to be a lifetime of enslavement. Preferably to their victims, with the victims having absolute power to make any and all decisions regarding the life, death and well-being of such slaves as they own. Such decisions should not be subject to being overruled by a court or anyone else.
Of course, I realize this would be completely unconstitutional under our current system, but it is becoming more evident to me every day that our current system may need to be restructured soon.
