Hundreds of parents packed a Rocklin charter school district board meeting Monday night to voice their opinion about teaching gender identity in class.

The discussion was sparked after a kindergarten teacher read a book to the class about a transgender girl's transition.

The school board heard more than three hours of comment before they voted late Monday to not to change their current literature policy, which allows the inclusion of transgender characters, and "endeavor" to notify parents about controversial topics.

“so far 40 kids have been pulled”

I’m guessing this is their attack on DeVos.

No cost is too great for leftist freaks in their quest to destroy America and all for which we stand.

Parents just don't know what is best for their kids. The Big Brother public education systems does and it will continue to push it.

Few people realize how far the public education system goes and gets away with.

A couple of years ago, it was Communist mind control techniques (google tools of the mind and Lev Vygotsky) and now it is Hindu/Buddhist meditation and chanting mantras. BTW, we can't say Christmas but it is okay if the kiddos are chanting mantras and meditating.

If they spent more time teaching reading, writing and arithmetic like they were hired to do, and leave the political crap alone, our children, and the nation, would be a MUCH better place.

And people on the streets could actually answer Jesse Water’s history questions instead of looking like imbeciles who haven’t got a clue what happened in our country beyond 10 years ago

Definitely not the school’s realm of expertise, nor their charter.

One question for those who promote children deciding their gender:

If a 5 year old is mature enough to decide on their sex, why not lower the drinking and voting age to 5?

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Highlighting mine.

Typical school board. Takes the easy way out. Big, big difference between endeavor and will. Got to leave themselves an out. Can't get pinned down. Then they would have to take some responsibility.

I’ve seen pictures in the local paper of first grade classes participating in a rain dance ritual with the tribal medicine man at the nearby reservation. Pretty sure that no one informed the parents their 6 & 7 year olds were going to take part in a pagan religious ceremony that day. I would have been livid, but apparently would have been the only one upset as no parents complained to the school.
