Any Freepers live there, when their parents were in the military?

My hubby and I will be going up there this week. I’m very excited!

My mothers cousin’s husband was an air force meteorologist station on a mountain that you could see from their home in south side of San Jose.

My dad sold his Model A Ford to a service member, Harold, that worked at Mt Umunhum. My dad didn't want to sell the car but Harold would come by the house to visit with the cash and let my dad hold the money. Harold knew my dad had a soft spot for military and would eventually sell the car for what he offered.

We have been mountain biking the Sierra Azul trail for years waiting for them to open up Umunhum. The rangers showed us a map nearly twenty years ago that showed plans for Open Space trails from Los Gatos to Santa Cruz, and Umunhum was a key parcel in the plan.

There were pics posted earlier this year, thought it was already open.

The concrete cube had a radar antenna mounted on it.
